App won’t open (macOS)

If macOS shows “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”:

Right-click the app in Finder and select Open, then click Open in the dialog
Or: System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to the briDJe entry → click Open Anyway

App won’t open (Windows)

If Windows Defender SmartScreen blocks the installer, click More info → Run anyway.

Tracks show “file not found”

briDJe stores the original file path from your DJ software. If you’ve moved your music:

Go to Settings → Audio Library Paths and add the new root folder
Re-import — briDJe will attempt to match files by filename

Waveform shows blank or gray

The audio file at the stored path could not be found
The file format is not supported (check it plays in your DJ software)
Re-import the affected tracks using Audio Files mode pointed at the folder

Import shows no tracks

Traktor — Make sure you selected collection.nml, not the Traktor folder
Rekordbox — Rekordbox must have been opened at least once so the database is created
Serato — Select the root music folder, not the hidden _Serato_ subfolder
Engine DJ — Select the Engine Library folder, not a subfolder or file inside it

Export: “No output path” error

For Traktor, Rekordbox, and VirtualDJ exports with “Update existing collection,” you must provide the path to your existing library file. Click Browse next to Original collection to locate it.

Export writes but DJ software shows no changes

Make sure you specified the correct output path (the same file your DJ software reads)
Restart your DJ software after exporting — most platforms don’t hot-reload their database
Traktor — the file must be collection.nml in the Traktor documents folder
Rekordbox — verify you’re overwriting the correct master.db

”License activation failed”

Check you have an internet connection — first activation requires it
Paste the key exactly as issued (no leading/trailing spaces)
If the key is already active on another machine, deactivate it there first

”Export failed — permission denied”

Close the target DJ app before exporting. Both apps cannot write to the same database simultaneously.

Beat grid looks wrong after transfer

This can happen with tracks that have variable BPM or unusual time signatures. Use the target platform’s beat grid editor for minor adjustments, or edit the grid in briDJe’s Deck Player (B to set downbeat, ,/. to shift) before exporting.
