Your First Sync

This guide walks you through your first complete library transfer — import from one platform, export to another.

Step 1 — Import your source library

Open Import → Import Library (or press Cmd+I on macOS / Ctrl+I on Windows).

Select your source platform from the six buttons at the top of the dialog. Each platform has its own import flow:

• Traktor — point briDJe at your collection.nml file
• Rekordbox — point briDJe at your master.db database file
• Serato — point briDJe at your root music folder
• VirtualDJ — point briDJe at your database.xml file
• Engine DJ — point briDJe at your Engine Library folder
• Audio Files — select a folder and let briDJe analyze BPM and key from the audio

Use Import → Auto-Detect Platforms to let briDJe find all installed DJ software automatically.

briDJe never modifies your source files — it reads only.

Step 2 — Browse and verify

Once imported, your tracks appear in the main list. Click a track to open the detail panel and check that cue points, loops, and beat grids came across correctly. Use the Deck Player to listen and confirm timing.

The free tier includes 15 tracks — use this to verify the transfer on your own music before activating a license.

Step 3 — Export to your target platform

Open Export → Export Library (or press Cmd+E / Ctrl+E).

Select your target platform and configure the options:

• Update existing collection — merge into your existing library (recommended if you already have tracks in the target platform)
• Create new file — write a fresh library containing only the tracks in briDJe
• Create backup (.bak) before overwriting — always recommended

Click Export. Once complete, launch your target DJ software — your library will be ready.

Tips for a clean first sync

• Export to a fresh library on your first run to avoid conflicts
• Restart your DJ software after exporting — most platforms don’t hot-reload their database
• If you’ve moved your music files, go to Settings → Audio Library Paths and add the new root folder before importing
